Tribal Tour Orrisa
Day 01 : Arrive Delhi
Welcome to the Odisha Tribal Tours. You will be greeted by Erco Travels’ representatives upon your arrival at the Delhi international airport. They will then take you to the hotel and will assist you in check-in. You will be feeling tired after a long flight so it is advised to relax at the hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi
Delhi, being the capital of India, serves as the starting point for almost all tours across India. The Delhi tour will include sightseeing at India Gate, Rajpath, Parliament of India, Red Fort and Jama Masjid. Return to the hotel for spending the night.
Day 03 : Delhi - Bhubneshwar
Enjoy your breakfast in the hotel. Afterwards, proceed to the airport to board a flight to Bhubaneswar, Odisha. After a short 2-hour flight, arrive at Bhubaneswar airport and proceed straight to the hotel. Lunch will be at the hotel. After lunch, take a half-day city tour to visit the Lingaraj Temple and Bindu Sarovara. Return to the hotel for the night.
Day 04 : Bhubneshwar - Baliguda
After breakfast in the hotel, proceed to Baliguda by surface. Monday is the best day to start this tour so that you can visit the weekly local markets. Baliguda is famous for its tribes and tribal villages. Proceed to the hotel for lunch on arrival. You can visit the tribal markets in the evening. Return to the hotel for the night.
Day 05: Baliguda - Rayagada
After breakfast, drive to Rayagada in the morning. On the way to Rayagada, visit the Desia Kondh villages. Check-in at the hotel on arrival. Rest of the evening is free for leisure activities.
Day 06 : Rayagda - Chaitkona - Jeypore
Drive to Chaitkona in the morning. On Wednesdays, a weekly colorful market opens in Dongoria Kondh. A small trekking tour to the Dongoria Kondh villages is organized for you. The tribal people of Dongoria Kondh stay on the hills of the forest and are expert in cultivating plants. Return to the hotel in Rayagada for lunch. Afterwards proceed to Jeypore (not to confuse with Jaipur in Rajasthan). Check-in at the hotel upon arrival for overnight stay.
Day 07 : Jeypore
Begin the morning tour of Ankadeli after breakfast. You can visit the tribal market of Bonda tribes on Thursday. Photography is not allowed so respect the local customs. Return to the hotel in the evening.
Day 08 : Jeypore
Today visit the Nandapur area to see the Paraja tribes and market Kunduli. This Friday market is famous for cattle trade. Spend the day at the market to see the tradition of the Paraja tribes. Dinner will be at the hotel.
DAY 09 : Jeypore
It is now time to diver to Gupteswar in the morning to visit the Dhurba Tribes. This tribe is very good in doing bamboo works. On the day tour, visit the tribal market and villages. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: Jeypore
Visit Khairput in the morning to see the market and tribal villages of the Bonda tribes. The barter system still exists in this market, which is quite interesting. Next visit the market at Baipariguda. Afterwards, continue your journey to Kangarapara to visit the Gadaba tribes where you can see the Gadaba tribal dance. Return to the hotel in the evening for overnight stay.
Day 11 : Jeypore
After the breakfast, move to Kelwa/Sarbati. In the villages around Kelwa/Sarbati, you will find different tribes like Raana, Mali, Paraja and many others. Return to the hotel for spending the rest of the day.
Day 12 : Jeypore - Taptapani
Take a morning excursion of Taptapani, a hot sulfur water spring. Later visit the tribal villages where Kutia Kondh, Mali and Dingaria Kondh tribes live. Check-in at the hotel in the evening for overnight stay.
Day 13 : Taptapani - Puri
It is now time to proceed to Puri in the morning. Puri or Jagannath Puri is a holy city for Hindus and holds major religious importance. Enjoy a boat ride in Chilka Lake. Transfer to the hotel for check-in and overnight stay.
Day 14 : Puri
On the full-day tour of Puri, visit Konark to see the Sun Temple. Return to Puri for lunch. Enjoy an evening walk near the Golden Beach of Puri.
Day 15 : Puri - Bhubneshwar - Delhi
On the last day of this tour proceed to Jagannath Temple. Non-Hindus and foreigners are not allowed to enter the temple and can only see the rituals from a terrace outside the temple. Afterwards, drive to Bhubaneswar. Upon arrival, transfer to the airport to board a flight to Delhi. Board another flight back to the home country upon arrival. Thank you and visit again.
